Hey! New things!

I’ve been lax about updating. Oh, the woh. Daily the store expands further into punk boutique territory. Let me share with you some new offerings:

I have handmade leather pouches and bracelets made by my friend Jo. They range in price from $10-22. How reasonable!

I have used records! Woohoo! Ranging from classical to jazz to classical emo to wierdo-whatever.

I just got in limited edition t-shirts by Brian Walsby (brianwalsby.net). Pictured here L to R: Fucked Up, Corrosion of Conformity, Voivod. I also have copies of Brian’s comic book “Manchild”.

That is Omar Souleyman. Hailing from Syria, he has made somewhat of an international name for himself by fusing the folk music of his nation with a pop sensibility. He seems to emit a sort of hip-hop star personality on stage, spreading his arms wide as if in acknowledgment of his awesomeness. And, awesome his most recent double LP is. I have in stock…..for a short time!

Handmade, local crafts might catch your attention. A carefully selected selection of used vinyl might pique your interest. Cool, not-available-anywhere-else-in-D-town t-shirts might get you on your bike. Strange music from around the globe, pressed on vinyl for the first time, or available on CD, might get you to dismount your bike at 742 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204. Whatever it is that gets your goat going, stop on by Thursday through Sunday, noon to six!

About Growler Distro

Growler Distro, or Growler Record Store, are the same thing: a project aimed at selling records, tapes, CDs, CDRs, zines, books, and cool handmade trinkets in Denver, CO, which I'm proud to say is my home. My name is Molly and I've been tabling at punk shows since 2006 and now I'm expanding to a brick and mortar shop at 742 Santa Fe Drive. (Days and hours TBA) I've always loved underground music for it's freshness and honesty and I want you to feel like you can discover a gem as well. I believe that music brings people together much like a well-prepared meal can. And, I think that underground music and literature often talk about the things in life most important to you, whether that be disenchantment with the state of things or a truly broken heart. I carry a lot of different styles of music, so don't limit yourself to one definition of what underground or punk might mean to you. Growler Record Store has music for quiet, contemplative rainy days, dance parties, and even for the apocalypse. I have music made by women, queers, people of color, and in many different languages. You will find your voice as expressed by talented musicians, just the way it was meant to be. And you will likely leave feeling inspired by and connected to your fellow humans.
