Slick new vinyl for your sweaty palms to hold.

A heavy box of records came in the mail today.  Yippee!!  An order from Kill Rock Stars and another from Bomp Records!

  • The Telescopes   “Taste”   LP (influential early 90’s psych-rock-shoegaze)
  • Iggy Pop & James Williamson   “Kill City”   LP (something retro & remastered)
  • Marnie Stern   s/t   LP  (yeah, lady shred!  And, also available on CD)
  • Nikki & the Corvettes   s/t   LP (garage had an 80’s revival too)
  • “Bomb the Rocks”  2xLP  (a compilation of lady-fronted, Japanese garage rock from ’86-’96)
  • Hypstrz   “Hypstrzation”   LP  (like MC5 inspired surf/garage rock, originally released in ’80)
  • Grass Widow   “Past Time”   LP  (these girls’ singing is too wonderful for words, rocking and sweet, like the Northwest does so well)
  • The Thermals   “Not Like Any Other Feeling”   7″
  • The Thermals   “Never Listen to Me”   7″
  • STLS  “Drumcore”   7″  (yes, this record features only drummers!)
  • Erase Errata   “Damaged”   7″
  • Stereo Total   “Baby Ouh!”  CD  (yes, you can dance to it!)
  • The Last   “L.A. Explosion”   CD  (collection of tracks from this old L.A. punk band)
  • Kleenex/Liliput   “Live Recordings”   CD+DVD  (video and audio from this late 70’s, all-girl punk band from Sweden)
I recommend you check out these links:  The Kill Rocks Stars website enables you listen to sample tracks from each of their records that I carry.  Plus, they are on the admirable bandwagon of providing albums for download only.  Admirable because it saves a million fossil fuels from being used on production and shipping.  I’m pretty excited about the new DOS album that is only available this way.  Please surf over to the Bomp website as well.  It’s a label I wasn’t overly familiar with before, but I now know that they’ve been around for a fucking long time.  They have excellent descriptions of all of their bands.  Then, of course, you can always learn more about music on YouTube.

About Growler Distro

Growler Distro, or Growler Record Store, are the same thing: a project aimed at selling records, tapes, CDs, CDRs, zines, books, and cool handmade trinkets in Denver, CO, which I'm proud to say is my home. My name is Molly and I've been tabling at punk shows since 2006 and now I'm expanding to a brick and mortar shop at 742 Santa Fe Drive. (Days and hours TBA) I've always loved underground music for it's freshness and honesty and I want you to feel like you can discover a gem as well. I believe that music brings people together much like a well-prepared meal can. And, I think that underground music and literature often talk about the things in life most important to you, whether that be disenchantment with the state of things or a truly broken heart. I carry a lot of different styles of music, so don't limit yourself to one definition of what underground or punk might mean to you. Growler Record Store has music for quiet, contemplative rainy days, dance parties, and even for the apocalypse. I have music made by women, queers, people of color, and in many different languages. You will find your voice as expressed by talented musicians, just the way it was meant to be. And you will likely leave feeling inspired by and connected to your fellow humans. How to find me: and
